The 4′ Side-Shift Flail Mower – 3-Point Hitch PTO is designed for operators who need greater reach and flexibility when maintaining areas that are difficult to access with a fixed-center mower. Suitable for 20–30 HP compact and small tractors, this model is ideal for mowing along orchard rows, fence lines, ditches, roadsides, and property edges.

This mower mounts to a standard Category 1 three-point hitch and operates from a 540 RPM PTO. A manual offset system allows the cutting head to shift up to 20.9 in (530 mm) to the left or right of the tractor’s centerline, enabling precise trimming without repositioning the tractor. Power is delivered through a heavy-duty belt drive to a balanced rotor fitted with 78 reversible “Y” blades, providing dense blade coverage and consistent cutting across the full 4 ft (1250 mm) working width. The mower includes a PTO shaft for straightforward installation.

Like all flail mowers, this side-shift model offers the best of both worlds—a cleaner, more controlled finish than a rotary cutter, combined with greater cutting capability and durability than a standard finishing mower. The result is excellent performance on grass and weeds, with the ability to manage light brush while minimizing debris throw and improving operator safety.

Built for durability and smooth operation, the mower features balanced cast iron pulleys, a fully balanced rotor and shaft, and a robust side-shift frame designed to handle offset operation. Cutting height is adjustable from 0.04–0.6 in (1–15 mm) using both the rear roller and adjustable skids. A baked-on powder coat finish provides long-lasting protection against corrosion and UV exposure.
